Inside the Asian Pain Academy’s Four-Day Intensive Hands-on Training in Ultrasound-Guided Pain Procedures
From May 21–24, 2026, the Asian Pain Academy conducted a four-day intensive hands-on workshop focused on ultrasound (USG) and fluoroscopy-guided pain management interventions. Bringing together physicians and anaesthesiologists from across India, the program went beyond traditional lectures to provide an immersive clinical training experience designed to translate theoretical learning into practical, real-world application.
Redefining CME Through Hands-On Learning:The Asian Pain Academy’s four-day intensive workshop went beyond conventional academic teaching by prioritizing practical skill development in ultrasound and fluoroscopy-guided pain interventions. The program included:
• Live demonstrations of interventional procedures• Real-time image-guided treatments on patients• Interactive, case-based learning discussions• Supervised hands-on practice on volunteers
Under expert guidance, participants actively performed ultrasound-guided nerve blocks and fluoroscopy-assisted procedures, strengthening their understanding of precision, safety, and contemporary standards in pain management.
A Cohort Dedicated to ExcellenceThe workshop brought together a diverse and motivated group of physicians and anaesthesiologists from across India, further reinforcing the Asian Pain Academy’s reputation as a leading hub for interventional pain training. Notable participants included:
Dr. Samir Tarsekar, – Anaesthesiologist,
Dr. Bharat Kumar Sanapala– Anaesthesiologist, Vizag
Dr. . Saksham Sharma – Radiologist , Jaipur
Dr. Devavrat Vaishnav, – Anaesthesiologist, Raipur
Dr. Shreya Chatterjee - Anaesthesiologist, Kolkata
Dr. Azhagiri Karikalan,- a radiologist
Their active engagement, collaboration, and enthusiasm fostered a dynamic learning environment built on knowledge sharing, peer interaction, and focused skill enhancement.
Capturing the ExperiencePhotographs from the workshop captured moments of concentrated learning, guided mentorship, and collaborative practice. Each frame reflected the academy’s commitment to transforming medical education into a hands-on, skill-driven experience that ultimately enhances patient care.
Celebrating AchievementThe program concluded with a Certificate of Completion ceremony led by course directors Dr. Debjyoti Dutta and Dr. Chinmoy Roy. This closing event marked a meaningful professional milestone for participants, equipping them to confidently apply advanced image-guided techniques in their clinical practice.
The Importance of Image-Guided TechniquesThroughout the workshop, strong emphasis was placed on the critical role of ultrasound and fluoroscopy in improving procedural precision and clinical outcomes. Participants gained deeper insight into:
• Real-time visualization of anatomy
• Accurate needle guidance
• Enhanced procedural safety
• Improved management of complex pain conditions
