Highlights of the Hands-on Workshop on Pain Management Techniques & Interventions:

  1. Comprehensive Curriculum: The 4-day workshop provides a thorough understanding of pain medicine, covering anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and pain management strategies.

  2. Practical Focus: Participants will engage in hands-on practice on mannequins and volunteers, allowing them to apply theoretical knowledge directly to clinical scenarios.

  3. Diverse Intervention Modalities: The workshop covers a range of pain management techniques, including epidural steroid injections, nerve root blocks, facet joint injections, and ultrasound-guided procedures.

  4. Expert Guidance: Live demonstrations by experienced practitioners will provide insights into various procedures, enhancing participants' skills and confidence.

  5. Limited Seats: With only 5 seats per batch, participants can expect personalized attention and ample opportunity for interaction and learning.

Eligibility: 

Applicants for this program must hold a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree or its equivalent from a recognized university in India or abroad. Additionally, they must have completed at least one year of residency at a recognized hospital in any of the following disciplines: Anaesthesiology, Orthopaedics, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Neurosurgery, Neurology, Rheumatology, Radiology, and General Medicine. Candidates with post-graduate degrees or diplomas in these disciplines are exempt from further questioning regarding their qualifications.

 

Venue:

The classes will be held at Rajarhat Pain Clinic in Newtown, Kolkata, and Samobathi Pain Clinic in Kolkata, according to the provided schedule. 

Course Fee: 

This is as follows, For Indian citizens and (Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal & and Bhutan): INR 19,000/-  For International participants: USD 400  

 

Information: 

Attendees are responsible for organizing their own food and lodging arrangements. Snacks and a working lunch will be provided during the course. Office staff can offer guidance over the phone, and there are hotels conveniently located within walking distance for individual accommodation needs.

Day 1 (Thursday) - (C-arm Guided Procedures)

9:00 am to 9.30 am – Reporting and Introduction

9:30 am to 11:00 am - Introduction to Pain Medicine, Anatomy, Physiology, and Pharmacology of pain. History Taking, Radiation safety, do’s & don’t in Pain procedure, 

11:00 am to 11:15 am - Tea Break

11:15 am to 12:15 am –Evaluation of back pain.

12:15 pm – 1:00 pm –  How to Interpret X-Ray & MRI of Spine, 

1:00 pm to 2:00 pm - Lunch 

2:00 pm to 4:00 pm - Fluoro-anatomy of the spine with Practical Demonstration of Lumbosacral Procedures on Mannequin. Live Demonstration and Hands-on Practice on Mannequin - Transforaminal Epidural Steroid Injection (MIPSI) - Sub-pedicular approach and Kambin’s Triangle Approach, S1 Selective Nerve Root MIPSI, Caudal Epidural Steroid Injection (MIPSI), Facet joint and SI joint  Injection (MIPSI)

 

Day 2 (Friday) - (C-arm Guided Procedures)

9:30 am – 11:00 am - 

Introduction to Sympathetic System and Sympathetically Mediated Pain. 

Live Demonstration and Hands-on Practice on Mannequin - Lumbar Sympathetic Block, Superior Hypogastric Plexus Block, Ganglion Impar Block 

11:00 am to 11:15 am - Tea Break

11:15 am to 01:00 pm -  Stellate Ganglion Block, Splanchnic Nerve Block, Coeliac Plexus Block

01:00 am – 02:00 am - Lunch

02:00 am - 04:00 pm -

Evaluation of Neck and Shoulder Pain, Trigeminal Neuralgia

Live Demonstration and Hands-on Practice on Mannequin – Cervical Epidural Steroid Injection, Cervical Facet Joint Intervention, Gasserian Ganglion Block, Sphenopalatine ganglion Block 

Day 3 (Saturday) - (Ultrasound Guided Procedures)

9:30 am – 11:00 am – Basics of Ultrasound, Approach to a patient with Shoulder, Elbow and  Wrist pain 

Ultrasound demonstration on Volunteer of Common  pain procedures of Shoulder & Elbow

  1. Suprascapular Nerve Block
  2. Intra-articular Glenohumeral Injection
  3. Subacromial/Subdeltoid Bursa Injection
  4. Acromioclavicular Joint Injection
  5. Biceps Tendon Sheath Injection
 
Elbow:
  1. Intra-articular Elbow Joint Injection
  2. Common Extensor Tendon (Lateral Epicondylitis) Injection
  3. Common Flexor Tendon (Medial Epicondylitis) Injection
  4. Cubital Tunnel Syndrome 
  5. Ulnar Nerve Block
  6. Radial Nerve Block

11:00 am to 11:15 am - Tea Break

Ultrasound demonstration on a Volunteer of Common  pain procedures of the Wrist and Hand  

 
Wrist:
  1. Carpal Tunnel Injection
  2. De Quervain’s Tenosynovitis Injection
  3. First Carpometacarpal Joint Injection
  4. Ulnar Nerve Block at Wrist
  5. Radial Nerve Block at Wrist
 
Hand:
  1. Trigger Finger Injection
  2. Metacarpophalangeal Joint Injection
  3. Proximal Interphalangeal Joint Injection
  4. Distal Interphalangeal Joint Injection
  5. Digital Nerve Block

Ultrasound demonstration on Volunteer of Common Pain Procedures of Hip, Knee, Ankle, and Foot 

Hip:
  1. Intra-articular Hip Joint Injection
  2. Lateral Femoral Cutaneous Nerve Block
  3. Femoral Nerve Block
Knee:
  1. Intra-articular Knee Joint Injection
  2. Pes Anserine Bursa Injection
  3. Iliotibial Band Injection
  4. Genicular Nerve Block
Ankle:
  1. Intra-articular Ankle Joint Injection
  2. Tarsal Tunnel Injection
  3. Retrocalcaneal Bursae Injection
Foot:
  1. Plantar Fascia Injection
  2. Metatarsophalangeal Joint Injection
  3. Digital Nerve Block

 

Day 4 (Sunday) - (Ultrasound Guided Procedures)

9:30 am – 11:00 am – Demonstration of RF, Ozone, and PRP machines.  

11:00 am to 11:15 am - Tea Break

11:15 am to 01:00 pm:

USG-guided SI Joint Injection, Lumbar facet joint Injection followed by USG demonstration of Basic pain procedures Revision &  Repetition 

01:00 am – 02:00 am - Lunch

2:00 pm - 4:00 pm - Certificate Distribution followed by  USG demonstration of Basic pain procedures Revision & Repetition
